November Specials - Stampin Up- UK

Hi everyone!

I hope that everyone is having a fantastic time, no matter what you are doing! It is very cold here in London and the November specials are what we all need to warm up our little hearts..:)

RUB-ONS AND TEXTURED CARDSTOCK PROMOTION
Spend £20 on regular catalogue merchandise and qualify to purchase all Rub-Ons and textured card stock at 20 percent off.
Click on the image below for further information so that you see exactly which products are on promotion and you can also check the prices.

A little bit more about Rub-ons and Textured cardstock...

You might not have heard of Rub-ons before. This is a fantastic product and it works well on textured card stock. Now, textured card stock is just cards with a textured surface, a bit like Bazzil. When you look closely at the card, you can see fine lines tightly woven across , almost like canvas. While Rub-Ons can go on many surfaces (glass, plastic, picture frames, etc.), don’t forget it is great on card stock as well! Rub-Ons take to textured card stock even better than a stamped image because the paper is rough and uneven, so Rub-Ons are a great choice for adding a special image or greeting to your projects.

This is the first time Stampin' Up is offering textured card stock in Europe, and now it's your chance for those of you in the UK to get a discount on it!This is the perfect time to give textured card stock a try as textured card stock is a fun way to add more depth and interest to your projects. If you’ve been thinking about trying out textured card stock, this is the perfect time!”

Do not hesitate to email me for any queries you may have.I will get back to you as soon as I can.If you want to have a demonstration about anything at all, just give me a shout.

Bye for now and hope to see you again soon...I will be uploading a new video soon,so, do not disappear!

Take care,
Tassy

A Fond Farewell....

Hi everyone!
Sorry for not posting lately...

I have some juicy news for all of you SU fans...

First and foremost, I still have couple of SU magazines 2007/2008 reduced at a very very low price (£2). If you are interested, let me know.

Going, going, GONE...SU has put up a list of retired stamps on its website which you can find HERE. You will not get these stamps with this reduced price ever again - and since they are retiring, you will not be able to purchase them again..so if there is any stamps you really want, now is the time to get them. Email me if you are interested in any stamp sets and I will get back to you. But you will have to get in touch before the 30th of September.

Also, Stampin up's new catalogue 2008/2009 will be available very soon. I am getting mine , I think, by next week.If you would like a copy, email me and I will save you one.I am not too sure how much they will be right now but as soon as I know, I will post it up here.

Good news...I have managed to find a few places where I can do a workshop. I am planning one in mid October. Now that finding a place is almost out of the way, I need YOU to make the workshop happen. So, even if you have never ever made a card before, or even hand stamped before, come along and try out some wonderful SU products. There will be a make and take and I promise it will be fun!Email me : craftytassy@gmail.com and I will get back to you ASAP.

The venue will be in London.

Last but not least, if you live in London, but would rather have me coming to you for a demo, please let me know. There's a lot of benefit like earning free stamp sets, exclusive to hostesses and free merchandise up for grab when you host a SU demo party. If you are interested, drop me some words.

If you have any questions, please leave me a comment with your email address under my comment section.Remember , my comments are moderated, and I will never publish your email address.Thank you!

Mixed Bouquet - Special friend

In this project, I have used the amazing set of 'Mixed Bouquet' from SU. This is a fantastic set which I fell in love with, it was like love at first sight( I never believed in this before- but hey, look it happened to me:) So, I have used the stamps in this set using a few ink pads such as :Pixie pink, Green galore,Brillant Blue and Real Red(SU).I started with the lightest colour and build up this collage of images. The sentiment 'special friend' is from the 'Daily flexible phrases' stamp set (SU) and the pink and blue cards are from the Bright Colour card pack(SU). I have made the scalloped edge using a circle punch and punched the holes with a hole puncher. I heard there is this new punch now that does this and its called the Threading water punch. Can somebody tell me why 'water' ? I can understand the threading part, but water??Hmm, interesting.Anyway, I finished off with Whisper white ribbon(SU) with a faux bow.
I hope you like it!

Pick a petal - Together

I have made this card using the pick a petal stamp sets from SU.This is such a cute and versatile set. I have stamped the background using some circle designs from the set using Pinxie Pink and Green Galore classic ink(SU)- Before I carry on, don't you think these inks have got such exotic names? Even their cards have got such cute names - I love them so much.Anyway, I stamped randomly onto my card which is half of A5 size card. Then,I stamped the petals onto pink, green, yellow and whilte cards and then cut them out.I have used green with white dots ribbon(from papermania - I think).I glued down the petals , alternating with different colour and finished off with a 'together' sentiment from the 'Daily Flexible Phrases' stamp set (SU).I have cut out the arrow and stamped the sentiment on it. Voila! cute little card for that special someone in your life.
I hope you like it and thanks for popping by:-)

Any comments are welcomed, even negative ones, as I surely will learn from it. I am looking forward to make more!!!

A card which is a gift in itself...

Hi Crafters,
Today I'm going to show you a project I did and I do hope to do a video on this as well. My friend at work, who is a D&T teacher(Hey Martin!!:)), lent me a book on templates. I was fascinated by all the templates I saw in the book, however, you need to be able to print them on A3 paper so you can trace the template out and you need A3 paper to work on as well.

Since I didn't have A3 paper, I decided to break down the template, and adjust the measurements so I can make something smaller. I didn't even have the measurements for the templates since the book comes with a CD and I didn't have the CD. All in all, I managed to personalised the template, it took me a while but, hey, I loved the outcome.

Okay, to start with, I have measured a white card, not too light in weight, not too heavy, lets say medium weight. As you can see on the picture, it's a 25cm by 12 cm piece of card. Starting from left hand side of your card, measure 12cm along the length of your card, mark it and draw a line across so that you have a square of 12x12 on your left hand side. Then measure 1cm which will be now in the middle of your card, mark it and again draw a line along the width of the card, from top to bottom. This will then leave you will a 12cmx12cm on the right hand side of your card.
Then using your bone folder and a ruler, score down the lines which measure the 1cm in the middle. When you will fold across these lines, you will get a folded card with a spine of 1cm.(crossing my finger that my instructions are clear - phew!)

Then, you will need a different colour card for the inside cover, I am using Olive colour card from MM.You will need two sheets of A4 cards for the inside cover.Your first card needs to measure 12cm by 15 cm(length by width). The side which measures 15 cm with have an allowance of 1.5cm at the top and bottom(inclusive). The 1.5cm will be the flaps which will be scored with your bone folder, across the length.I hope the picture is clear enough to demonstrate this.
Your second piece of card needs to measure 12cm by 9cm. Then draw an allowance of 1.5cm from the edge of the right hand side of your card, going towards your left, then draw a line across the width , from top to bottom. This will leave you will a 1.5cm on the right hand side of your card, score down that line. This is a flap also. Then repeat with the bottom edge of the card, score a line leaving 1.5cm from the bottom edge to the inside of the card. This is again another flap.Basically, you will end up with two scored lines of 1.5cm on the right hand side edge and bottom edge of your card.
Now, on the left hand side of your card, measure 4cm, from the bottom of your card , going up and mark down 4cm.You will then start from this mark and cut at a slant toward the top edge of your card to make an angular cut. Again I am hoping my picture will be clear enough for you to understand. If its not Im so sorry, Im trying.
Now then, Here is a pic to show you the pieces of cards with the scored lines. You will notice that , I have also trim the end of the flap to make them less bulky when gluing down.
Now I have placed the inside cover on the fron cover to show you how they will be glued together. I have used a circle punch to punch out a half circle on the left card to make it easier to take anything you will insert in that pocket.
Fold the flaps and use your bone folder to re-inforce the fold real good...Then I have used the stamping around wheel to decorate the inside covers with the 'seeing spots' stamp and then use double sided tape to put along the flaps. Then you are ready to stick them down.
Ouch, this pic is not very good but at least you can have an idea what you can use the inside pockets for.I have cut out some tags, decorate them with 'seeing spots' stamps and I have made some note cards too. Then I have just put them in the inside pockets.
Now the top cover...I went a bit mad with layering because this is what I like to do. I do not really measure my panels of cards , what I do normally, I eye ball it. I seriously do not like measuring! So I place my card over the front cover and I just used a pencil to mark where I want to cut them. Again, I have used the 'seeing spots' set to decorate all these panels. Oh I forgot to say, before you stick down the inside covers, just add a piece of ribbon in between the inside cover and the front of the card. So that you can tie it up when you fold them.Reason you stick it in between the front and inside cover is because then, the ribbon is neatly hidden between these two layers.
Closed up of the front cover..
This is the seeing spots set and you can see the notecards better here...They are pretty - I think!
So, this can be a cute gift to someone. She will be happy to have some notecards, cards, tags handy when she needs them..(she or HE) -LOL.
PS: After I have posted this , I went back and read it again- I must admit, a video tutorial is a must...I get dizzy with all these instructions for measurements and what not! Good luck peeps!

Seeing spots!

I made this card using SU seeing spots stamp set. Aren't they cute? I decided to go out of my comfort zone and used brown and black and orange. I really really like layering. I think of these days I will do a card with as many layers as I can make - I would like to go crazy with layers.Okay this is something else. So anyway, this card here, I have used the Seeing spots wheel to make the back ground with circles and dotty circles. The flower and thank you is from the seeing spots set.
I have made another project already with this set. Watch this space:)

Polka Dots and Paisley

This is a card I made using the paisley image from the Polka Dots and Paisley set from Stampin up. I have stamped the images 3 times and cut out one layer from each image, so I could mount them to have this 3D paisley on the card below. I have used Basic grey patterned and plain paper. I really like the pink in this picutre and I have used a natural colour card stock for the base of the card. I found a matching ribbon in my stash, but just cannot remember from which company(sorry).I will note down what I use as from now on so you can have the exact reference next time...Okay, I hope you like it!

I have finished off with three tiny stick on pearls...Aren't they cute!!xx

I am...

a Stampin'up Demonstrator - officially I am now!I know I said I wouldn't but I changed my mind as I have realised that I will never know if I can do it unless I do it.

I have lots to show and will do so shortly.

I am very tired right now but I am on holidays from today onwards - which is both good and bad. I will hopefully upload some stampin up projects as soon as I can.Just bear with me please.

If you need any info about stampin' up, leave me a comment under the comment section and I will get back to you. You can leave me your email address since my comments are moderated which means, no one will see your comment before I do, which means I can delete your email address before I publish it.I am not leaving my contact details for now since I am always showered with spam messages when I have my email address on my blog.I am trying to work something out but leaving your contact detail in my comment section is safe as I will never publish them.

Bye for now and speak to you soon...

Altered note book

As promised!!!....Today I had some spare time...don't even ask why...I promised not to moan.So lets get started.

I saw this project on youtube and all credits go to Chic n Scratch. I think she does some fantastic projects and couldn't resist not trying out this one.I have tried to take pics along the way so you can get an idea how its done...but if you prefer, you can hop over to youtube and search chic n scratch.

Anyway, there we go:
Simply Said set by Stampin up, Versamagic ink, small notebook, versamark and dye based black ink.

Place one side (the cover) of the note book on a piece of paper and trace out the holes, just make some dots using your pencils in the open space. See below:-
Or place your paper on top, and pierce some holes using the tip of your pencil as this is your rough page, your template.
When you have finshed, place your template on your chosen card and trace the holes again, making dots as you work your way from one side to the other.
Once you have done that, just use your crop a dile or a punching tool and punch out the holes. Then using a pair of scissors, just slit your card at the top , just above where the holes are, until you reach the holes. This will help the card to slide over the rings. Then use a corner rounder and round the bottom of your card to match the noteback(which normally comes rounded).Apply glue to the front cover of your notepad and place your card on the cover, starting from the bottom(opposite sides of where the rings are) and stick it down, moving from the bottom to the other side where the rings are....Don't worry as your card will just slide over the rings(remember the slits you made?) and press down- you might want to use a narrow object to try and smooth everything down in between the rings...(SO so sorry I didnt take pics for these steps...).

Then decorate as you wish. I have used the flower stamps and sentiments from the set mentioned above to decorate the front cover. Its entirely up to you to cover the back of the notebook as well. Won't this make a cute little gift for that special person in your life.

Hope you like it. If you have any question, don't hesitate to ask me or leave a comment.

Thanks for visiting.Hope you like it.

Decision...

I have decided not to join the stampin' up!....Its a great opportunity, lots of exciting products and what not....would have given me the chance to meet other crafters alike but I will not take it up, at least , not right now.

However, I have made some projects using stampin' up a few weeks ago and would like to share it with you....

I will still use this blog to showcase stampin'up products, when I get round to do them. If you want to subscribe, please do so, as it will allow you to know when I am posting so you can pop round only when I have indeed posted something. As I know it gets really boring after a while when you keep coming on here and nothing new has been posted, my apologies for that.

I honestly do not have much time on my hands anymore. So much to do but so little time. I know that my aunty told me, time is the same for everyone and that we should master our time management ourselves and that we will find time if we make the effort ...ect...yeah right, but , wot do you do when you plain and simple do not have the time? Where do you 'find' that time..know wot I mean?

Anyway, I think I will start moaning if I don't stop! Let me compress the pictures so I can put them up....I find this so time consuming to go and compress and crop and twist here and there.

Am I complaining or moaning again? Oh my God, that is not good.

Now, shhuuuuush!

Watch out for the next post which will be in about , I reckon, half an hour!
